Projects coordination
TECHNOFI coordinates innovative projects with ad hoc management tools.
More generally and beyond projects financial engineering, TECHNOFI has a long-lasting experience of R&D services including:
The SINFONIA project is a five-year initiative to deploy large-scale integrated energy solutions in mid-sized European cities. An integrated set of measures combining the retrofitting of more than 100,000m² of living surface, optimisation of the electricity grid, and solutions for district heating and cooling will be deployed in two pilot districts in Innsbruck and Bolzano.
TECHNOFI is in charge of developing a decision-support tool for the planning of long-term refurbishment at city scale, using the concept of scalable and replicable district templates. TECHNOFI is also involved in the assessment of the economic and environmental impacts of the demonstrations.
The overall objective of BRESAER project is to design, develop and demonstrate an innovative, cost-effective, adaptable and industrialized envelope system for buildings refurbishment including combined active and passive pre-fabricated solutions integrated in a versatile lightweight structural mesh. A demonstration will be performed in an education building in Turkey.
TECHNOFI is in charge of the exploitation activities, i.e. designing the exploitation plan and IPR strategy for all projects results as well as developing business plans for key project results having the highest exploitation potential.
The MeeFS project aims to develop, evaluate and demonstrate an innovative multifunctional façade system for drastically improving the energy efficiency of retrofitting geared towards the residential building sector across Europe.
The team will work collaboratively on the façade development (architectural, energetic, passive and active breakthrough technologies, energy management system, installation, and structural material) and façade demonstration (in real life building in Spain).
TECHNOFI is in charge of the exploitation activities, i.e. designing the exploitation plan and IPR strategy for all projects results as well as developing business plans for key project results having the highest exploitation potential.

Complementing the activities performed so far by the European Electricity Grid Initiative (EEGI) and the Grid+ project, the Grid+Storage consortium led by TECHNOFI and gathering EASE, EDSO, ENTSO-E, RSE and VITO has been selected by the European Commission to support DG Energy and the Member States in defining a European R&D roadmap integrating energy storage into grid research and innovation activities, both at electricity transmission and distribution levels.
The GARPUR project designs, develops, assesses and evaluates new reliability criteria to be progressively implemented on the pan-European power transmission system over the next decades, while maximising social welfare. TECHNOFI is in charge of designing and implementing the dissemination strategy of the project to make policy makers, regulators and all involved bodies of the electricity value chain ready to adopt new reliability management criteria, and of preparing the future exploitation of the project’s results.
EC, 2013-2017
Market4RES investigates the potential evolution of the European Target Model for the integration of EU electricity markets that will enable a sustainable, functioning and secure power system with large amounts of renewables. TECHNOFI is in charge of assessing the appropriate market instruments for RES-E to meet the 20/20/20 targets, by using the OPTIMATE simulation platform
EC, 2014-2016
The iTesla project aims at improving network operations with a new security assessment tool able to cope with increasingly uncertain operating conditions and take advantage of the growing flexibility of the grid. TECHNOFI is responsible for disseminating the project results to regulatory bodies, the TSO European community and other stakeholders in view of progressive knowledge sharing and adoption of the toolbox, and for preparing the industrialisation phase that will follow the project’s end.
EC, 2012-2016
The e-Highway2050 project is aimed at developing a methodology to support the planning of the Pan-European Transmission Network, focusing on 2020 to 2050, to ensure the reliable delivery of renewable electricity and pan-European market integration. TECHNOFI is in charge of coordinating the collection of relevant data for technology components (generation, storage, transmission and demand) that will be used as inputs for the simulations and analyses, and is involved in the packaging and dissemination as well as the exploitation of the project’s results.
The GRID+ Project aims at designing a set of accompanying activities to make sure that the European Electricity Grids Initiative (EEGI) will pass through the critical 2012-2014 period. This involves preparation of Horizon2020, initial operation of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators(ACER), and increased specification duties of the network operators.

The ProBIO initiative offers services to the consortia of EU projects funded under the Knowledge Based Bio-Economy calls, to support the exploitation of their projects results. Technofi will help a set of EU Projects either to get their results closer to market or identify further R&D financing.
The INNEON project acts as a facilitator between investors and innovation projects that have a sustainable (either environmental or social) dimension. INNEON develops a matchmaking platform operating like a “hub” to boost the development of high-potential eco-innovations through an access to financing.
In this framework, Technofi is supporting a set of eco-innovative projects in their business strategy development and contacts with investors.
